Soul (re)Focus | Transcending Shame

Mini Urban Retreat

This workshop is part of a year-long series of monthly workshops on Living Well. Select the ones you want, or sign up for them all. This is now a virtual workshop until it is safe to conduct in-person sessions

This workshop will be held online via Zoom

You are the guardian of your soul. It’s the essence that makes you you; from your dreams to your creativity energy to your free time, your soul is your truth.

In stressful times, or in times of intense feeling, we can place our focus on external goals and activities. We might forget, or procrastinate that special care that we may need in those very moments. Just as we need to care for our body, we need to be the guardian of our soul too.

Another great blockage is our shame – the internalization of negative messaging and painful experiences. Shame can shroud our soul’s truth, keeping us always slightly distanced from our authentic expression.

What does it mean to be your own soul’s guardian?

In this workshop, we will tune into making boundaries, honing in on our truly nourishing actions and creativity. Honoring vulnerability and protecting our essence becomes our focus. The outsides – circumstances, people, obligations – will always compete for our attention. Let’s take some time for our internal worlds.

This is a time to focus on you and to listen to the needs of the spirit through creative arts activities and experiential exercise. Using art therapy and experiential techniques, Claudia Palmira will guide you in activities designed to invite insights and creativity to emerge naturally.

The workshop lasts 3 1/2 hours with one break.

What to expect in this workshop:

• guided meditation
• interactive group activities
• guided creative activities
• connection with other like-minded “seekers”

About the modalities used in this workshop

Experiential therapy involves guided movement and interaction among group members to improve spontaneity and release stuck energy in the body. No experience or skillset in either is necessary to participate. All are welcome.
